Mary Mehala

With more than 20 years of experience in independent education — including work in Paris, France — Mary Mehala serves as Associate Head of School, Finance and Operations at Valley School of Ligonier. Mary first learned about Valley School through her work on its PAIS accreditation committee, where she was struck by the strength of the school's Core Values — particularly Cultivating Wellness, which she views as a proactive, holistic, lifelong commitment. After her two daughters graduated from college, Mary saw an opportunity to live that value and joined Valley School.

Mary holds a BA in International Business Administration from the American University of Paris and an MBA from Strayer University — a background that has served her well in the financial and cultural aspects of school leadership. Outside of work, Mary loves reading, spending time with friends and family, and going on adventures with her golden doodle, Kobe. She draws creative inspiration from the natural world and enjoys the many nearby trails.

Mary is grateful for the opportunity to bring the same blend of financial stewardship and mission-driven leadership to her role as a SOIL Haiti board member. She is honored to support an organization whose work holds personal and professional significance for her.
