Jumping into a new relationship can be nerve-wracking. Will we share the same values? Will they grow with us? Will they embrace our quirks?

But sometimes, things just click—like they did with SOIL and our new partner Who Gives a Crap, an innovative toilet paper company on a mission to make a difference. From the start, we knew we were a great match. We share the same big ambitions, a passion for meaningful change, and, well… we’re both in the business of bums and bathrooms. A strong foundation, if you ask us.

But the more we got to know Who Gives a Crap, the more charmed we became. So, forgive us while we list some of the things that we admire about our new partner.

Why We’re Swooning

Where to start?

Who Gives a Crap (WGAC) is an Australian B-Corp that believes everyone deserves access to clean water and a toilet. To date, they’ve raised over $12.5 million from their toilet paper sales to organizations working toward this goal, including Fresh LifeWaterAid Australia, and Water For People.

And they don’t just give back—they do business in a way that makes a real impact. They donate 50% of their profits (yes, half!) and they’re rethinking the way we all use toilet paper.

Toilet Paper, but Make It Ethical

Most toilet paper is made from trees, which is pretty short sighted and wasteful when you think about it. But Who Gives a Crap does things differently. Their TP is made from recycled materials and bamboo, meaning zero virgin trees are harmed in the making of their rolls.

“Cutting down trees for toilet paper?"

"Ew. How archaic.”

Plus, they’re committed to no deforestation in their production cycle, using (Forest Stewardship Certified) , recycled and bamboo fibers. Even WGAC’s packaging is 100% curbside recyclable—because nobody needs extra plastic waste in their life.

And to top it all off, they offset their carbon footprint by supporting global forest protection efforts through their partner Pachama. Less waste, fewer emissions, happier planet.

SOIL + Who Gives a Crap = Toilet Equity

Now, for the best part: Who Gives a Crap is partnering with SOIL to support our work in expanding safe, dignified sanitation and transforming waste into compost in Haiti! That means every roll of TP they sell helps fund SOIL’s efforts to bring sustainable, climate-positive sanitation to communities in Northern Haiti.

As SOIL’s Executive Director, Sasha Kramer, puts it:

“I love partnering with a company that so brilliantly combines purpose and passion, all the while making their customers smile and destigmatizing the universally relatable experience of going to the bathroom. We are proud to share a commitment to creating a world where everyone can go to the bathroom with comfort, dignity, and style!”

Robin ChoHead of Impact at Who Gives a Crap, echoes this sentiment:

“We are thrilled about partners like SOIL, who demonstrate an unwavering commitment to serving the most vulnerable communities, especially in a difficult context like Haiti. Their innovation, grit, and resilience have already helped thousands of Haitian families access safe toilets every single day. We’re excited to help them reach many more families.”

So, if you needed an excuse to stock up on some delightfully designed toilet paper—here it is. Every trip to the loo just got a little more meaningful.

We look forward to deepening our collaboration and mutual admiration for one another in the coming years.
