Announcing SOIL’s Inaugural Book Club

SOIL is happy to announce our inaugural SOIL Book Club. This summer we will embark on a journey through the pages of "Aid State: Elite Panic, Disaster Capitalism, and the Battle to Control Haiti" by Jake Johnston. Readers are invited to explore the intricate dynamics of international aid and its profound impact on Haiti.
Jake Johnston will join SOIL Book Club participants for a special virtual event on Thursday, September 19, from 7:00-8:30pm ET, providing a unique opportunity to gain deeper insights directly from the author. Participants will have the chance to engage in a meaningful conversation about the themes within the book and ask questions that spark further exploration.
